Norwegian-Ukrainian Summer School on Vulnerability Assessment of Critical Infrastructures in the Post-Soviet era: Case Ukraine

Dear colleagues! We are glad to inform you that International summer school “Norwegian-Ukrainian Summer School on Vulnerability Assessment of Critical Infrastructures in the Post-Soviet era: Case Ukraine” will be held in Kyiv (20-26 August) and Kaniv (26-31 August), Ukraine, 2017.

Program of the International school includes lectures and practical training for participants of the school. The program includes also visit  Kaniv Hydro Power Station. The summer school participant will receive a joint Norwegian-Ukrainian certificate for successful training.

Registration, accommodation, and meal are free for accepted Master and Ph.D. students.

The summer school is supported by grant SIU CPEA-ST-2016/10002.

The focus of the school is to improve education in the leading Ukrainian educational and research institutions on vulnerability assessment of national critical infrastructures. This aim is furthered by professional discussion and analysis of vulnerabilities of Post-Soviet critical infrastructures in Ukraine, that have a strong dependence on information and cyber security, safety of critical systems and homeland security.

Uncertainties stemming from various sorts of (out-of-date equipment, disasters, cyber, terrorists…) threats make it difficult to guarantee presently safe and secure operations. The aim is to bring together school students and international experts with complementary backgrounds to instruct on a better understanding of the key challenges that must be addressed when upgrading and protecting Ukrainian critical infrastructures.
